The innovative second skin-like creamy shadow formula blends smoothly over lids and creates seamless, buildable coverage without looking heavy or cakey. We’ll see.A highly pigmented, long-wearing, blendable eye primer and/or cream shadow MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot goes on creamy and dries to an intense, vibrant finish that lasts for 24 hours. When I run out I might buy the full size, or I may branch out and buy the Nars one because I’ve heard rave reviews about it. I got a sample size tube with my Pro 2 palette and it’s lasted forever. Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer: my favorite that I’ve tried! Holds my shadows on even better than the Milani, no creasing on my oily eyelids. The shadow is mostly intact with the Milani primer, just with a little creasing. Not nearly as bad as the MACPPs though, which my eyelids just eat up. Milani Eyeshadow Primer: works well enough, but there is some fading at the end of the day, and some light creasing. I personally wasn’t too impressed with either though. They both crease on me, but Painterly is a little better than Tailor Grey about that. MAC Paint Pots: I have two shades, Painterly and Tailor Grey. I’ve tried several shadow primers and here are my thoughts on all of them. I love talking about this stuff too! It fascinates me how much little things can make our experiences so different. It just works for me, the feeling of heavy eye makeup has never bothered me, and I've learned to set with a skin tone or otherwise complimenting powder if I want less opacity and build up. But now that I think about it, it's definitely "heavier" than primer. I want a thin/lightweight (relatively) cream concealer for the barrier as well as the tacky base. I was thinking of it from my preferences, where the thinnest liquid concealers aren't "enough," because my eyeball oils wash 'em away. I wonder if it's because my lids are only slightly oily? I do need something there for the shadow to adhere to, and the stickier/tackier, the better longevity, pigmentation, and opacity, but too thin and my skin oils break it apart. See, I don't have that creasing issue with thicker ones nearly as much as I do the thinner ones! They do often have more tackiness, but if I want serious tackiness I just use Pixie Epoxy, which is awesome, but not really primer. Lol I wrote that at 5 AM and when I re-read it, I was worried "would you mind" would come off as "I don't believe you, I demand you argue your case." I was not entirely conscious. I hope someone can find my trial and error useful. Didn’t set well, creased and don’t seem to lock in shadow. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer: 2.5/5 stars. I highly recommend trying this if you haven’t yet. Asian beauty product that was recommended on an online ’s cheap and takes forever to ship from Japan, but damn it makes my shadow last without creasing! I wasn’t expecting much given the price, but I’ve been happily surprised. ![]() Forms a great base for neutral eye looks.Įtude House Proof 10: 4.5/5 stars. Pretty but pricey! Locks in shadow better when set with a light powder before applying shadow. I get a bit more longevity after setting it with a light powder. I have to apply it oh-so-lightly to keep it from creasing, but then lose out on creating that stark white base on which to showcase a beautiful shadow. Great color vibrancy but I get creasing with this. ![]() Can apply a bit too damp using the doe foot applicator, takes a bit longer to dry down. It dries down nicely, though I don’t feel like it enhances the shadow’s vibrancy much. I like that it requires just the tiniest pin-sized amount to be effective. I’ve gone through several kindS of eyeshadow primers and have rated them below. If your post does not show up, please message the mods, it might be stuck in the spam filter.
